Welcome to the New Website for The Dreamhaus Project, Inc.
Lauryn Keahey, President, CEO & Founder of The Dreamhaus Project, Inc., is a visionary leader dedicated to serving communities and empowering families. Graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature from Spelman College, Lauryn's journey towards social impact was deeply influenced by her experiences of servitude, culminating in the (re)launch of The Dreamhaus Project.
With a profound commitment to service, Lauryn's background spans from weekly food distributions to international mission trips, embodying the ethos of her alma mater, the #1 HBCU, Spelman College in Atlanta, GA. Her studies at Spelman instilled in her a passion for effecting positive change, particularly in addressing family violence within minority communities.
The Dreamhaus Project equips families with the resources and skills they need to do life after working through traumatic experiences. Under Lauryn’s leadership, the organization aims to empower survivors of family violence, emphasizing emotional, financial, and mental abuse. The Dreamhaus Project supports families of all styles, amplifying the voices of minority families and fortifying bridges between communities.
Lauryn's approach is intersectional, recognizing the complexities of identity and culture. She believes in acknowledging and understanding these spaces of being before implementing transformative solutions. Her dream is to empower families to thrive by providing them with the support and resources needed to pursue their goals. The Dreamhaus Project offers college readiness assistance, a closet for clothing and hygiene items, and plans to launch a podcast on social representation of families. Additionally, they plan to run transitional housing with various support programs and house closets in local schools.
